upwellings is vincent raude, a professor of modern art at the academy of brest who has been releasing dub and reggae music since 1996 and has written music for contemporary dance and theater. he created his dub project lower groundz in 2004 where he experimented with reggae and in 2008 started his dub techno project upwellings under which he realized several 1s. his music was supported and charted by people like cio d or, laurent garnier, alexkid and more. upwellings music shows a great deal of recording knowledge and love for the details of electronic music. his a-side track zu zurich has a classic dub techno surface but we believe the skillful complexity on many levels will have us listen to this track many many times. there are things to discoverin >zurich< one might say. so it is no surprise that the flip side track >lower ground< shows more reggae influences which he uses in more abstract ways, employing vocal splinters he masterfully embeds in his recording.

the third album of depeche mode construction time again (1983) was the first one to include talented band member and arranger alan wilder to the mix. the album was recorded in john foxx s the garden studio in london and mixed in the famous hansa tonstudio in berlin, the latter being famous for its delivery of classic albums by artists like david bowie, iggy pop, nick cave and u2. experimenting with brand new instruments like the synclavier that allowed sampling to be manipulated musically, construction time again was a groundbreaking record that included industrial influences. these influences would come to full fruition on subsequent albums some great reward movlp940 and black celebration movlp947. songs like *pipeline*, *love in itself*, *shame* and *everything counts* turned out to become classic depeche material.

top quality remastered reissue of oses very rare and sought after old school vocoder electro jam *computer funk*, a stone cold classic with an awesome phat analogue bassline and some of the best vocoder vocals ever recorded. originally released back in 83 on the tiny florida label bound sound and produced by the great james mccauley, this is miami electro at its finest and it is easy to see why it has become such a holy grail with djs and collectors. must have.
